Thursday Fog Info

We will depart at 8:15 or when the last student arrives. NO SPEEDING!  We’ve got plenty of time.

Fog information for Thursday’s BPA trip to Columbus

I spoke with Mr.  Buscher tonight, and he said he will relay fog information, as it arrives, to WCSM.  If school is delayed, Celina buses start their routes at 8 am, so we can also be on the road by 8:00 a.m., our normal departure time.  If Celina cancels, then we can be on the road as soon as the fog lifts for safe travel.  The MOST IMPORTANT thing about tomorrow, is that you drive to Tri Star only when it is safe to travel.  No one is going to get left behind – SAFETY is the number one concern.

Mrs. Sheppard’s number is 419-305-1790.
Mine is 419-953-0311.

There is a fog advisory, so Mr. Busher will be checking weather conditions for each county from Celina to Columbus.  Again, student safety is always Tri Star’s #1 concern.

Call in the morning if you have questions.  If we do not answer right away, it is probably because we are speaking with another student.

Students win at Regionals, Advance to State

The list of state qualifiers will be added tomorrow.

BPA Award Ceremony Canceled

Vantage is delayed,  so the Business Professionals of America award ceremony is canceled.

Celina Schools is closed for the day, so our Tri Star classes are canceled.

Mrs. Sheppard is looking into collecting the award results and plaques this afternoon.  We would like to get the  results to you students by Friday morning,  so  she will try to contact someone at Vantage, even if they are closed.

Here’s some stock market trivia to entertain you while you make your official choices for your team’s portfolio.

  1. Wall Street was laid out behind a 12-foot-high wood stockade across lower Manhattan in 1685. The stockade was built to protect the Dutch settlers from British and Native American attacks.
  2. The “stock market” began in May 17th, 1792 when 24 stock brokers and merchants signed the Buttonwood Agreement. (The buttonwood tree was simply the local name for the sycamore tree)
  3. The first stock ticker was invented by Edward A. Calahan in 1867.
  4. The Securities Exchange Act of 1934 creates the Securities and Exchange Commission, charged with the responsibility of preventing fraud and to require companies provide full disclosure to investors.
